Erik Satie Mostly Tonal Award 

To encourage the creation and exposure of new melodic and tonal 
music, the Eclectix concert series initiated the international 
composition competition entitled the Erik Satie Mostly Tonal Award. 
Winners received a performance and a small stipend. 

Below are the award categories for each year, the winner, and their 
winning composition that was performed - followed by the performers, 
date and location of the concert. 

1987 Trios (any mix of woodwinds, strings, brass, or harp) 

Winner: Allan Blank of Richmond, Virginia 

"Fantasy on Cantillation Motives" for violin, viola and cello 
Mark Feldman, violin

Garro Yellin, cello
